Have You Considered Taking Out Dog Insurance?
If you are considering buying a puppy or you have recently bought one then you might want to consider taking out dog insurance. Usually the earlier you take out your insurance and the younger your dog, the cheaper the insurance premiums will be.
The insurance premiums are usually cheaper due to the fact that older the dog the more chance there is of it becoming ill. Illness is one of the many things that dog insurance covers. Typically a policy will cover the cost of any medicines your dog may have to take, the cost of tests and x-rays. There is typically a limit as to how much you are able to claim in a year so check this out at the time of applying for insurance.
The cost of dog insurance may also be dependent on the breed of dog. If you have purchased a pedigree dog at the cost of hundreds of pounds the premiums may be dearer than those for a mixed breed dog. This is not to say that a pedigree is better than a mixed breed, it is just the fact that a pedigree would cost more to replace if it was covered for death or it being stolen and not recovered by the owner.
