Mobile Insurance – Keep Your Assets Hidden
We all like to show off from time to time. It starts from when we are little children up to when we are old. It is a natural trait of humankind the world over. We often show off and do not realize we a doing it. It can be funny, annoying and sometimes it can cost us dear.
I can remember years ago on a school holiday to the then Yugoslavia. We were in Dubrovnik, at the time, a poor city. We all had our wads of Dinar notes. I can not remember their worth now, as it was a long time ago, but I do know that just because they did not seem valuable to us, it was perceived value as far as the locals were concerned.
We walked down this street waving our wads on notes. After a few hundred yards, a teacher came up behind us and asked us to look behind us. There was a mob of angry looking young men. If looks could kill! We made a hasty exit with our chaperone.
These days, it is accessories that we like to show off and none more so than our mobile phones. Latest models are mini computers with correspondingly escalated values. In fact, spiralling values have made mobile insurance even more necessary. Despite knowing how valuable these handsets are, people still leave them lying around in public places, especially bars and pubs.
One of the most common claims on mobile insurance policies is for theft when left unattended in a public place. Sometimes our vanity is our worst enemy especially when it comes to expensive belongings.
You would never dream of leaving your wallet or purse on a bar and leave it unattended and yet this is exactly what people do with their mobile phones. Then they are surprised when they are stolen.
Fortunately, sensible people have their handsets covered by mobile insurance, but you should still keep your valuable assets hidden when you are not using them.
