Home Emergency Cover – Smell The Cover!
No, we have not discovered some new kind of aromatherapy insurance, but on a serious note modern living and habits require that we maintain certain standards of cleanliness. This has become a socially accepted norm and woe betide anyone falling foul (sic) of its importance.
More and more people are realising the importance of home emergency cover to protect themselves against sudden, unforeseen events that can stall your lifestyle. Most of these are obvious ones, like leaking pipes and failed central heating. However, equally as important is our power supply, i.e. electricity. With modern trip boards, it is not always as easy as just replacing a fuse to correct matters.
A friend of mine recently had to stay off work for a couple of days using valuable holidays because her shower had failed. It is one of those things that are taken for granted until they stop working. No end of fiddling with the buttons on the trip board would get it to work, so she had to take time off work to get it fixed. 40 years ago, she would have just gone to work without a shower, but today’s conventions are entirely different.
Not only did she have to take time off work, she did not have home emergency cover so she had the double whammy of time off work and a big bill to pay, all for the sake of a few pence per day to cover these events.
