Tips For Choosing Caravan Insurance
One of the first factors you need to take into account when you are buying caravan insurance is that you choose the right type of cover. Insurance providers typically offer static and touring protection and while the policies have some of the same benefits, each policy has slightly different ones too.
For instance, if you own a touring caravan then your caravan is at higher risk of being stolen than a static. This is of course due to the fact that your touring caravan is pulled by your vehicle and is easier to move around than a static. Insurance providers typically ask that you install security additions such as a hitchlock to ward off thieves.
If you own a static caravan you may wish to ensure that the insurance covers any veranda, decking and fencing around the caravan. Typical static caravans are like home away from home and some insurance providers may extend protection to the outer immediate area of the caravan, while with others you may have to pay a little extra.
Of course there is a great deal more to caravan insurance so always check out any policy you are considering very carefully before purchasing.
