What Mobile Phone Insurance Cover Offers

Mobile phones are expensive gadgets and can be easily damaged, for example by water in wet weather conditions or if you simply drop the phone, and could be destroyed. Replacing a mobile phone is expensive, more expensive than when you purchased it; the mobile phone your mobile provider gives you is at a discounted rate.

Mobile phone insurance cover is the solution you have to protect your handset and your money in case of any damage. Alternatively, your mobile phone can be stolen, which is a common occurrence, especially of expensive high-end phones. Another misfortune waiting to happen is when your stolen mobile phone is misused and you will have to pay the bill that the thief ran up on your behalf. Here again mobile phone insurance cover for theft and fraudulent calls can come to your rescue. These types of incidents are common and it would be wise to opt for mobile phone insurance cover, where you have the benefit of fraudulent cover.

Insurance companies offer international cover and extended warranty too. International cover takes care of loss, damage, or theft that may happen while you are on overseas travel. You can opt to have the 12-month statutory warranty that came with your new phone extended using mobile phone insurance cover too.

With several players active in the mobile insurance arena, customers have a wide variety of choices, but most companies offer similar cover and the rates may not be as varied. Given such a scenario, it would be wise to go with a provider that offers the best service.

Insuring Your Mobile Phone – As Natural As Having A Drink

People from the UK are often portrayed as being cautious and careful about their belongings, yet theft of what are considered hand-items are the ones most likely to be lost or stolen whilst on holiday abroad. It used to be cameras in the 60s and 70s, now it is mobile phones. It is therefore important to remember when insuring your mobile phone, that you have adequate cover for when you go abroad on holiday or on business.

I do not want to be a statistics junky, but think about this; there are about 40 million mobile phone users in this country alone and there will be 8 million phones lost or damaged. We do not know the exact number lost or damaged abroad, but you can bet that it is about 25-30% of that figure!

The favourite one happened to a friend of mine who is otherwise careful and cautious at home. She had gone to Spain with her husband for a get-away holiday for a week. No kids, just the two of them chilling out.

Within hours of landing and getting settled in at the hotel, they decided to take a stroll along the beach front, perhaps stop at a bar and have a nice stress free drink. They were looking out at a wonderful sunset and decided it would be a nice idea to send a picture of it to their friends back in the UK. Off it went back to the cold UK! They decided to go back to the bar, have another quick drink and then go back to the hotel.

After dinner, they decided to check whether they had received a response from their friends back in the UK to their picture. Well if they had, they would never know, because they had left the handset on the harbour wall after having sent the picture. Was it still there when they rushed back? No such luck! Just another statistic. Another Brit abroad not thinking about what they were doing. Fortunately they had taken the precaution of getting correct insurance cover before they went away, so the handset was replaced when they returned.

It is easy to be critical, but even when insuring your mobile phone in the first place, it is still sensible to remember to keep it safe just as you would when in your own country and not get lulled into a false sense of security especially when doing something as natural as just having a drink on holiday.

Home Emergency Cover – Beware That Old Boiler!

No, I do not mean the mother-in-law this time, but I agree, equally as annoying!

We all go through the same routines in our lives. As humans, we have a need to be organized and methodical, otherwise chaos reigns. Unfortunately, we also have a tendency through familiarity to miss the obvious and concentrate on the obscure. By that I mean we face similar decisions at certain times of the year and through habit we deal with them the same way each time. That is why we have insurance to cover those events that we know will happen, but not when they will happen. It is for this reason that sensible householders are turning to home emergency cover.

Unless you have your boiler serviced every year, it is almost a certainty it will break down eventually. Unfortunately, that always happens when you fire it up the first time it turns cold. So you are then left without heating until it is repaired.

You know you should deal with it every year, but you put it off until `next time`!

Well, now there is no excuse, because modern home emergency cover includes, for a small charge, an annual boiler service. Now you will know in advance whether the boiler needs repairing or replacing before it breaks down.

Now you can pat yourself on the back and look good even in the eyes of that other `old boiler`!

What Protection Does Touring Caravan Insurance Provide?

Touring caravan insurance provides a great deal of peace of mind by way of protection. Usually a policy will cover the possibility of your caravan being destroyed or damaged by fire. It provides protection against vandalism or break-in, storm and flood damage or your caravan being stolen. A policy also usually protects you for liability problems associated with you damaging a third parties property or injuring someone with your caravan.

As you are out on the road with your caravan you will take your belongings with you. Therefore thought has to be given to the worth of these. Why Consider Taking Out A Cat insurance Policy?

Why should you consider taking out a cat insurance policy? Well when you stop to consider the financial cost that you might have to meet if your cat was to fall ill or suffer an accident, you would have the answer to this question.

Cat insurance provides financial assistance for a great deal of events and circumstances which would otherwise see you having to put your hand in your pocket to pay out yourself. Cats are known for wandering off and if your cat is the victim of an accident you could be faced with huge vet’s bills. What if your cat develops diabetes or some other form of illness that requires medication year round? Medication can soon add up to a great deal of money, not to mention the cost of tests on your cat when it becomes ill. Insurance would typically cover vets costs and medication up to so much per year.

Cat insurance may work out cheaper if you shop around online and compare the cost, along with the benefits to a policy. The cost of insurance varies on the level of cover you choose. For instance you may choose a policy just to cover vets costs, or want total peace of mind and go for a top range insurance package that covers death, holiday cancellation, theft, boarding fees and more.

Breakdown Cover – What Insurance Does Not Cover

While shopping around for the best breakdown cover available in the market, make sure that it covers all your requirements.

Do you need assistance from your home? Then remember that this has to be on the next level from the cheapest level of roadside assistance. You will also have to opt for additional European cover, if you have to drive on the continent for business or plan to go for a driving holiday there.

You must make sure what your breakdown cover does not cover when you sign up for it. The cover does generally not include replacement of parts. If you didn’t know this at the time you bought your cover, believe me, you would be shocked.

Claims that are over a certain limit, for instance, the market value of the car and the labour costs, which are more that what is spelt out in the breakdown policy, will not be honoured.

It would be important to know that the recovery does not cover you after an accident, not even to the nearest garage.

Now there is some news for animal lovers. Transportation of animals, especially horses or livestock, is also not usually covered in the breakdown cover, though smaller domestic animals might be.

Breakdown cover does not cover unauthorized repairs, services, and other expenditure on the vehicle, so ensure you file your claim in keeping with what your policy allows.

You do not get unlimited calls for recovery service; each breakdown cover has a number specified. If you exceed the number of callouts, you have to pay for it.

Increasing Need for Mobile Insurance

Most people are not really aware of the cost of mobile phones, because when they opt for a plan, the mobile phone is provided by the company at highly subsidised rates. Mobiles are expensive gadgets and like most electronic goods, you have an array of handsets ranging from the basic to the highly advanced ones that of course are very expensive.

Mobile insurance is soon becoming a necessity, just as you would have any of your other valuable assets insured.

Loss or damage to your mobile phone can cost you dearly. The expense of replacing even an ordinary mobile phone can set you back by £400 or thereabouts. Can you imagine if you lose a high-end phone – it will burn a large hole in your pocket. With mobile insurance, you will be covered for loss, theft and damage and you can be assured that you will be adequately compensated.

While choosing your mobile insurance provider, you have to find out what kind of protection they offer and at what price. You could compare online the policies offered by various insurance companies, as you would if looking for car insurance and that will help you make an informed decision. You could find out who the reputed providers are, information you should find online. Most providers will have similar levels of service and if a reputed provider charges a wee bit more than the others it could be because they really do provide a better service. However, it would be good to ask around and gather as much information as possible before you make your decision.

Your Static Caravan Insurance Policy

Your static caravan insurance policy is very important and as so great care needs taking when choosing it. You do not want to spend a fortune on insurance, however at the same time you need adequate cover in case the worst case scenario arises.

If you find static caravan insurance but the premiums are a little on the high side you may wish to offer to pay more in excess and see if you can knock some off the cost of the monthly premiums. Typically the higher the excess the lower the monthly premiums but consider the fact that you have to pay your chosen excess out of your own money if you make a claim on the policy.

When looking at the benefits offered by insurance providers you may find that they are quite similar. For instance the typical policy will cover damage or destruction caused to your static caravan due to fire, storm, flood, and vandalism and provides protection against theft. Other elements could come under the insurance policy such as your awning, personal possessions, gas bottle and steps. However check any limitations on these as some providers may add in stipulations and there could be limits for single items.

Insurance For Mobile Phones – Its Child’s Play!

Nobody can be prouder than when they take out their child or grandchild for the first time in their pram. Off you go down the road, being stopped every few yards by well-wishers and curious neighbours. You are as pleased as Punch and full of paternal or maternal pride. Unfortunately, such attention can detract from looking after your belongings. Your preoccupation with the baby removes all concepts of protecting them.

The idea that by having insurance you somehow subconsciously ignore such protection is tenuous to say the least. People who have insurance for mobile phones for instance still generally take precautions. However, sometimes it is preoccupation with other things that can lead to a momentary lack of attention that leads to loss. This is unfortunately where opportunist thieves take advantage.

A few months ago, we celebrated when my youngest daughter had a baby girl. We went through all the things that happen when these events take place. My daughter almost wore out a pair of shoes walking for miles with her newly acquired pram! Unfortunately for her, her joy was short lived.

She went one day to her local shop. It was one of those minimarkets where they had three or four tills. Baby was crying incessantly and she wanted to buy some items and get home quickly. Her purse was at the bottom of her bag, so she had to take everything out to find it. She paid for the shopping and went home.

Shortly afterwards she could not find her mobile phone! She looked high and low. The last place she had it was when she went out. She remembered taking it out of her bag whilst looking for her purse. She had left it at the shop!

She went back later but they did not have it. It had not been handed in. Someone had picked it up and taken it!

Thankfully, there is insurance for mobile phones that covers this eventuality and after one call she was reassured that her handset would be replaced along with all of her saved numbers. It is easy to be distracted for a moment but making provision for such events really is child’s play.
